Try new brands on your shelves without buying the whole range first.
Sale or return and consignment both give your shop a way to test a new range without buying every unit up front. The agreement sets ownership, settlement and responsibility; Fondacos records deliveries, sales, returns and the balance due.
Know what belongs to each supplier and what needs doing.
When the courier leaves, your team can confirm the count against the supplier’s dispatch. Sales, stocktakes, damage and returns then update the expected balance, giving you a useful record when a supplier asks what remains.

Know what is due before the supplier asks.
The expected count reflects confirmed deliveries, sales, stocktakes and returns. If the shelf count differs, the record shows where to look and the agreement explains how an established loss is shared.
Bring in a brand your customers will ask for.
Invite the supplier, agree the price and return terms, then check in each delivery as it arrives.

Upfront cost, retail pricing and what happens to products that do not sell.
Do retailers pay for sale-or-return or consignment stock up front?
Usually, the retailer pays the agreed amount as units sell. The exact settlement timing and any other charges should be set out in the agreement before delivery.
Who owns the products?
Ownership depends on the chosen arrangement and agreed terms. The agreement should also say who is responsible for loss, damage and returns.
Can a shop set its own retail price?
The brand and retailer can agree pricing conditions for each product. Fondacos records those conditions, including any limits on discounting.
What happens to unsold products?
The agreement sets the placement dates and return process. Fondacos records the return quantities so the final stock position can be reconciled.
